The black and white tom watched the sliding door shut before gazing around the yard. it was finally warm enough to go outside and not freeze your paws off. Barry stretched before crunching through the snow and clawing his way up into the small crab apple tree his housefolk had planted there last year. He sat on the lowest branch and looked over into the neighbors yard, wondering if the she-cat he has seen on the opposite side of the fence was out today. He saw the door start to open and quickly busied himself with picking the ice out of his claws.

Ivy slipped outside. The red tabby licked her white chest. Her white paws blended in with the snow making it look like she was floating. She jumped onto her fence and looked at the sky filled with birds. She turned her attention to her neighbor's yard and looked at the crab apple tree. She saw Barry and adjusted her position. "Hi!" She mewed.

Barry glanced up at Ivy and smiled. "Hey Ivy." he crept along the branch and hopped onto the fence in front of her. He turned towards her and dugs his claws into the wood to keep himself steady- "How have you been?"

"Wonderful. Thank you for asking." Ivy purred. "And yourself?" She asked sitting down the best she could on the fence.
